Arts Council Website Info Meetings

Dear Artist and Arts Supporter,

As we move into 2010, we are posed to re-launch the Kingston Arts Council as a major voice of the colour, vitality, and passion of the arts. Thanks to new funding, a brand new Interactive Arts Portal (web site) is in the final stages of development – and we're dedicated to ensuring that every artist and arts-based organization in the area will be included in a comprehensive Artists’ Directory. We are also committed to making sure that the Kingston Arts Council works for you!

We would like to share some of this new information with you and any of your associates at the various Public Networking Sessions. See invitation inserted below.

The first event, Thursday, January 7 from 7-9 p.m., is a combined "Show and Tell night" and Info Session about the new website at the Wilson Room of the Central Branch of the Kingston Frontenac Public Library where Marney McDiarmid (ceramics), Don Stinson (wood), Carolyn Barnett (wearable art), and Laura Donefer (glass) will discuss their work.

You are also invited to any Networking and Info sessions that will be exclusively devoted to discussing the new Website and Arts Council activities from 7-9 pm on the following dates:

January 13 Sydenham Street United Church (82 Sydenham St.), Musicians/Singers/Teachers
January 18 Upper Canada Acad. of Performing Arts (260 Brock St.) Artists/Artisans/Photographers
January 19 Queen’s University Grad Club (main level, Barrie and Union), Writers/Film/New Media Arts
January 25 Upper Canada Academy of Performing Arts, Performers/Theatre/Dance

You are encouraged to come to the session that aligns with your arts discipline; however if the date is inconvenient please feel free to attend one of the other sessions. Please pass this email on to any other art friends, associates or group representatives that would be interested in the sessions.

RSVP's would be appreciated. Please send to jlb@artskingston.com

We invite you to pencil these dates into your 2010 calendar now - and we look forward to connecting with you in the New Year.

Sincerely

Jo-Anne Lachapelle-Beyak, Public Relations Coordinator
Lin Bennett, Communications Outreach Coordinator
